WHY THE HELL SHOULD YOU WORK WITH ME?

That’s a damn good question.

The short answer?

I know what I’m doing and I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed as a beginner.

I know what it’s like to be de-conditioned and to go from sedentary to active.

I’m not a lifelong athlete who naturally got into personal training – I’m a normal working class dude who had to figure out how to get stronger and healthier on their own, so I like to help people figure out how to do that for themselves too.

Save you the time and heartache I went through.

The long answer?

I’m a NASM certified personal trainer with years of experience working in the fitness industry and on my own personal health & fitness journey. I came to this profession through a different pathway than a lot of my peers and have a unique perspective because of it.

Early in my childhood I was in an accident that rendered me essentially inactive for a couple years, where I had to go through several rounds of physical therapy to regain the strength and motor skills to walk again. During that time I developed very sedentary lifestyle filled with video games, TV, convenient food, and a general distaste for physical activity.

I became a chubby middle schooler – and faced the bullying that typically comes with that.

Those kids were pricks.

Time goes on and as a young adult I become interested in the beautiful game – Football (aka Soccer), which leads me to becoming consistently active for the first time in my life. I shed a ton of weight by kicking a ball around with my friends. It was fun and good for me. At one point we had a group of people meeting up weekly to play 11 on 11 games. But it couldn’t last.

We all got older and the bills caught up to us, so we had to get to work. The games stopped.

Life carries on, bills get paid, and life shuffles around.

Fast-forward to my early 20’s and find myself working in a warehouse slinging flat-screen TVs and kitchen appliances. I needed to get strong, so I joined the gym after some peer pressure from my co-workers who were all avid lifters. They show me some basics, but I’m mostly left to my own devices.

And like anyone these days I turned to the internet for answers. They’re plentiful and free – but what I didn’t realize back then is that comes at a cost: my time & sanity.

There’s one thing I can say for sure about the fitness industry: It’s full of charlatans and snake oil salesmen.

In the fitness space, it’s easier to get a life-long eating disorder & body dysmorphia from content creators than it is to get a straight forward answer on how to get healthier & stronger.

There’s good information out there, but it’s submerged in an ocean of trash fear mongering and misinformation.

I know from first hand experience. Out of desperation to get fast results I tried every fad diet and workout routine I could find, which there was plenty of. I spent the first few years of my fitness journey trying stupid shit from the internet that didn’t work and often gave me worst results.

After a few years of spinning my tires and life-altering traumatic events I found myself working at the front desk of gritty but serious gym that was a catch-all for every walk of life that had one thing in common: they showed up to the gym consistently.

I became immersed in the fitness industry, took to rigorously studying exercise science, physiology, and anatomy while applying what I learned to myself. I reached personal physical milestones a younger me couldn’t even imagine. I was hooked. I love this shit.

After a few years of training myself and helping some friends, I finally decided to get certified and play my part in helping normal working people into the gym.

But there’s a lot about this space I don’t love, so I’m focused on helping people cut through the noise, cultivate a workout routine that fits their life & goals, and to keep it sustainable.

And if that’s not enough here’s some testimonials from the people I coach:
